No Way Home Easter Egg

Marvel Studios is still riding off the highs of Spider-Man: No Way Home , which became the sixth highest grossing movie in history and changed the game for the superhero genre. Now, even with Doctor Strange 2  looming over the horizon for the MCU, Marvel fans have their attention on July's Thor: Love and Thunder , whose promotional tour just showed its first signs of life. Chris Hemsworth's fourth solo movie just delivered its first trailer, and even though it broke the record for shortest promotional tour in MCU history, the footage made its mark on fans quickly. ADVERTISEMENT Thor: Love and Thunder will tie in heavily to its surrounding MCU counterparts, most notably including Endgame and next year's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 . The sequel&

As the fifth movie for Marvel's top-tier team waits in the wings, fans have started predicting what's coming down the road for Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including their next antagonist. Since Doctor Strange 2  began its marketing campaign in the post-credits scene of  Spider-Man: No Way Home , most of the film's secrets have been kept close to the vest. The second trailer revealed the return of Patrick Stewart's Professor X in an off-screen vocal cue, as well as the mysterious introduction of an energy-emblazed hero.  ADVERTISEMENT While the two aforementioned reveals were blatantly showcased,  Multiverse of Madness  has plenty of hidden Easter eggs throughout its promotional material.  Doc

No Way Home Reveals Tobey Maguire Easter Egg That We All Missed

Image
Spider-Man: No Way Home  is a celebration of all things Spider-Man. The Tom Holland-led threequel included a plethora of callbacks to previous web-slinging films, which includes Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy and Andrew Garfield's pair of The Amazing Spider-Man movies. This all became possible due to the film's use of the Multiverse, bringing back the two Spider-Men and several iconic villains like Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin and Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus.  One films that was heavily referenced in the threequel was 2004's  Spider-Man 2 . Aside from Molina's emotional comeback as Doc Ock, No Way Home  also included other Easter eggs such as the character's iconic  "The power of the sun in the palm of my hand"  line, as well as alluding to Maguire's Peter Parker having back issues.  ADVERTISEMENT Now, another hidden reference to the 2004 superhero film has been unearthed. Marvel Celebrates Loki’s Thanos Easter Egg With Special New Toy

Image
One of the most successful Marvel Studios Disney+ shows last year was Tom Hiddleston’s Loki . The series saw the God of Mischief arrested by the TVA after diverging from his 2012 Avengers timeline in Endgame . What followed was an absolutely wild ride as he met Variants of himself across the universe—the main one being Sylvie, played by Sophia Di Martino. With a show that traverses the Multiverse as Hiddleston’s series did, it presents plenty of opportunities to showcase some unique Easter eggs, such as somehow successfully showing off Frog Thor in the show or the Pyramid that Kang the Conqueror used to go back in time to Ancient Egypt. ADVERTISEMENT Another big nod that got lots of attention around its debut was none other than the Thanos-Copter. While fans didn’t see Josh Brolin’s villain take flight in it in either Infinity War or Endgame , some version of the Mad Titan out there did, in fact, terrorize his universe from the skies, just as he did in

Morbius Director Explains Tobey Maguire's Deleted Spider-Man Easter Egg

Image
Morbius  is finally in theaters after numerous delays, a number of trailers, and more than a few confusing quotes from the film's cast and crew. The movie follows Jared Leto's Michael Morbius, a scientist who, in an attempt to cure his blood disease, infects himself with a form of vampirism. The critical reception has been less than stellar for the film, and early box office returns are grim, to say the least.  The blood-sucking epic serves as Sony's latest stab at their own Spider-Man universe. Thus far, the webhead himself has not shown up in any of the Sony Spider-Man Universe films (aside from Tom Holland's brief moment in the post-credit scene of  Venom: Let there be Carnage ). ADVERTISEMENT But there have been hints pointing to the wall-crawler in  Morbius'  multiple trailers. Whether it was the Oscorp logo from  The Amazing Spider-Man , Micheal Keaton's Vulture from  Spider-Man: Homecoming , or Tobey Maguire's web-sling

Did The Batman Just Tease Joker’s Prison Escape With This Deleted Easter Egg?

Image
The Batman recently hit theaters, and it’s been doing very well for itself. The Matt Reeves directed film stars Robert Pattinson in the lead role, with his Dark Knight taking on Paul Dano’s Riddler. Reception has generally been glowing, and fans are anxious to know what may be next. One of the biggest teases the movie had in that regard was the inclusion of Barry Keoghan’s Joker towards the very end of the story. The Joker is a big name, one which has become basically mandatory to include in every Batman adaptation. Recently, a five-minute deleted scene featuring the classic villain in The Batman  was released online. ADVERTISEMENT It’s an exciting watch, no doubt about it—but it may hold something very significant: the first clue as to what The Batman 2 might have in store for audiences. A Joker Arkham Escape Incoming? Recently, a five-minute deleted scene from The Batman featuring Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader and Barry Keoghan’s Joker was rel

Deadpool 3 Star Ryan Reynolds Regrets One Marvel Easter Egg Missing From Free Guy

Image
One of Ryan Reynold's most recent films was  Free Guy . The project was directed by Shawn Levy (who is now helming  Deadpool 3 ) and followed an NPC named Guy in a virtual MMO-type world that sees him through the motions of his life. In his case, this involved events such as random gunfire, brawls in bakeries, and even the daily bank robbery. Everything started to change when he realized he was actually a Not Player Controlled (NPC) character in a video game, with people from the "real world" controlling those parading around the streets of his city and causing chaos wherever they went. Eventually, Reynold's leading character is forced to take action to not only break the mundane cycle of his virtual life but also to save Free City from complete annihilation. ADVERTISEMENT With such a concept, Easter eggs are pretty easy to implement. Of course, Reynolds went to town. Some of the ones that got the biggest reactions were Disney-based. In

New Moon Knight Trailer Features Falcon and Winter Soldier Easter Egg

Image
After kicking off 2021 with WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier , Marvel Studios is in for an even bigger expansion on Disney+ in 2022. This starts with Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight at the end of March, bringing one of the MCU’s first dives into more supernatural storytelling. Now that the series is so close to its debut, excitement for Moon Knight is reaching a fever pitch. This six-episode series will open new doors within the MCU’s ever-expanding narrative thanks to its ties to both ancient Egyptian mythology and more mystical plot points. After bringing a mix of real-world adventures and more cosmic/Multiversal adventures last year, 2022 will let Isaac fully explore a multi-layered new hero with an intense backstory to unravel. ADVERTISEMENT Recently, fans learned that Moon Knight would largely stand on its own as a story rather than being deeply interwoven with the rest of the MCU. However, even while the show attempts to start Isaac&#

Marvel Reveals Scrapped Ant-Man Easter Egg In WandaVision Premiere

Image
It's been more than a year since  WandaVision  kicked off this new streaming era for the MCU, and, in some cases, fans are still reeling from the series. The Wanda-centric adventure through sitcom history also served as Marvel Studios' first dip into the world of Disney+. It jump-started a franchise that had been dormant for more than a year at that time, laying the seeds for what Phase 4 of the MCU will be all about.  The show tore the very fabric of reality as Wanda Maximoff took over a small New Jersey town, creating her own little Multiversal bubble to mourn her recently deceased lover, Vision. A part of this personalized pocket of Marvel magic (aka the Hex) were a couple of in-universe commercials.  ADVERTISEMENT These Hex-based advertisements were some of the most confusing elements of  WandaVision, serving as teases that something bigger may have been at play. These ads gave fans plenty to chew on with each episode and held plenty of Easte

How Doctor Strange 2 Will Retcon Iron Man 2's Forgotten Illuminati Easter Egg

Image
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is promising to be packed with cameos and Easter eggs after a new trailer revealed the movie would include a zombified Doctor Strange, Ultron bots, and even Professor X. A popular fan theory following the latest teaser is that Doctor Strange 2 will introduce the concept of Marvel’s Illuminati to the MCU, which could either retcon or discredit a forgotten Easter egg from  Iron Man 2  in 2010.  Iron Man’s solo sequel included Easter eggs and references galore, including many that have since become integral to the greater MCU story. For instance, Wakanda was first teased at the end of Iron Man 2 and is now a fan-favorite MCU location and home to the Black Panther. Also worth noting is Project Pegasus, which turned from a simple name-drop from Tony Stark in 2010 to the thickest plot point in 2019’s Captain Marvel .  ADVERTISEMENT Every so often, an Easter egg goes untouched for years before it’s referenced again
