The Falcon and the Winter Soldier  pushed the boundaries of its TV-14 rating for Marvel Studios. The star-spangled series carried the legacy of the Captain America  film franchise through its visceral action, intimate fight sequences, and innovative combat. That innovation was exemplified in the final moments of Episode 4, which featured Wyatt Russell's John Walker using the iconic shield to bludgeon a Flag Smasher. Since the show exists exclusively on Disney+, Marvel Studios has free rein to make retroactive alterations. This year will see the debut of a second Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sure, all eyes may be currently on Marvel Studios' next project,  Moon Knight , but Tatiana Maslany's debut may be one of the biggest and most unique additions to the MCU's Disney+ slate in 2022. Maslany leads the series as Jennifer Walters, who ends up becoming a different version of what her cousin, Bruce Banner is: a Hulk. What makes the character truly unique is how she doesn't lose control of herself, like Mark Ruffalo's former Avenger. She also goes on to try and lead a normal life; raging green frame and all. Scott Derrickson was first announced as the director of  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness  in 2018 after first taking the reins on 2016's Doctor Strange . At San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Multiverse of Madness was revealed to be an MCU movie that would make fans jump, mainly due to Derrickson being a horror director at heart.  However, in January 2020, Derrickson departed the project. C. Robert Cargill, co-writer of the original  Doctor Strange  film, later revealed in a May 2021 interview that  "creative differences"  were the main reason behind the exit, although nobody elaborated any further on the news:  ADVERTISEMENT "It was creative differences. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever  has gone through the wringer. The unfortunate passing of star Chadwick Boseman pivoted director Ryan Coogler's drafted script for the sequel into a narrative that would retire the leading character of King T'Challa. Regardless of the obstacles, Coogler reshaped the narrative in a way that  "feels  spiritually and emotionally correct"  for his ensemble. Even with the script issues resolved, the sequel's woes continued past pre-production. Leading woman and rumored heir to the throne Letitia Wright stirred controversy when she liked tweets suggesting Marvel  "cancel Black Panther 2 immediately"  and recast her role of Shuri.
