New Ms. Marvel Photo Shows Her Official MCU Superhero Look

Image
Marvel Studios kicks its 2022 into full gear on March 30. Oscar Isaac's  Moon Knight  premieres its first episode ahead of its six-week run, one that will end just two days before the theatrical release of  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness . Just one month after Benedict Cumberbatch's Avengers-level sequel, Iman Vellani makes her long-awaited debut as Kamala Khan in her self-titled solo series,  Ms. Marvel . While  Ms. Marvel 's production did not have the start-stop COVID-19 obstacles that fellow 2020 Marvel Studios' projects experienced, this series did undergo its fair share of tribulations. Filming initially wrapped in May 2021, but late  "substantial"  reshoots put  Ms. Marvel  on uncertain release status. That changed when Marvel Studios confirmed in the show's first official trailer that the series would begin streaming on June 8. ADVERTISEMENT Aside from the one teaser trailer,  Ms. Marvel  has yet to dive...

Is Disney+'s She-Hulk In Trouble? New Rumor Points to Show's Problems

Image
This year will see the debut of a second Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Sure, all eyes may be currently on Marvel Studios' next project,  Moon Knight , but Tatiana Maslany's debut may be one of the biggest and most unique additions to the MCU's Disney+ slate in 2022. Maslany leads the series as Jennifer Walters, who ends up becoming a different version of what her cousin, Bruce Banner is: a Hulk. What makes the character truly unique is how she doesn't lose control of herself, like Mark Ruffalo's former Avenger. She also goes on to try and lead a normal life; raging green frame and all. That normal life? Being a lawyer in the courtroom. ADVERTISEMENT The series will have ten episodes, and be more akin to a sitcom than anything the MCU has done before. Basically, it will be what  WandaVision  would have become if Agatha wasn't there all along. Sadly, however, new rumors have indicated that there may be some problems brewin...

Marvel Studios Exec Hypes Up MCU's Upcoming Slate

Image
After a jam-packed year of content, the span between Hawkeye and Spider-Man: No Way Home and the launch of Marvel's 2022 slate has made all MCU fans wish Thanos hadn't destroyed Doctor Strange's Time Stone. Thankfully, 2022 isn't 2020; and with the beginning of Spring comes the beginning of yet another banner year of Phase 4 MCU storytelling on both Disney+ and in theaters.  In the meantime, the studio has been enjoying the fruits of their labors, particularly in terms of No Way Home 's box office success and the critical praise for their inaugural year of Disney+ shows.  ADVERTISEMENT But when it comes to Marvel, no show or film's story ever truly ends, as all tales somehow connect to those still to come or who have come before. One of the best new examples of this is  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , which picks up where No Way Home and WandaVision left off, introduces new characters, and possibly ties into oth...

Marvel Studios Teases Eternals’ Future Impact on the MCU

Image
Upon the completion of Marvel's Infinity Saga, it seemed that the Multiverse was the MCU's next big threat, affecting characters from Loki to Wanda Maximoff to Peter Parker and Doctor Strange. While that appears to be true, one of Marvel's latest Phase 4 films, Eternals , didn't seem to contribute to the greater MCU or the current phase's overarching story at all. However, according to Eternals ' creators, it absolutely will.  Now,  Eternals was a unique and ambitious film from the start. In addition to introducing an ensemble cast of new characters, Eternals covered thousands of years of history and featured the enormous, cosmic Celestials. All of this came with no help from a Nick Fury or any prior MCU character cameos.   ADVERTISEMENT While some appreciated its gorgeous visuals and themes of humanity and morality following its November 5, 2021 release, others felt it was too big of a swing and too separate from the MCU itself...

How Eternals Let Salma Hayek Overcome Her Fear

Image
With big films like Spider-Man: No Way Home  and  Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness , it's easy to forget some of the newcomers fans welcomed into the Marvel Cinematic Universe last year. Among them were the likes of Kang the Conqueror, Monica Rambeau, Sam Wilson's new Captain America, Yelena Belova, and Kate Bishop. However, the biggest group to join the party was the Eternals. In Chloé Zhao's cosmic epic, fans were introduced to over a dozen new characters. Most among them were the heroic team of beings who have been on Earth for 7,000 years. Big names such as Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, and Kumail Nanjiani joined the MCU's ranks and became new heroes for fans worldwide to look up to—well, apart from Madden, given his shift in allegiance. ADVERTISEMENT There have been many great stories from behind the scenes of the picture, such as Jolie helping deaf co-star Lauren Ridloff or hearing about how much fun Harry Styles had on...

Moon Knight Gets Official TV Rating and It's Lower Than Expected

Image
One of the many keys to the MCU's success is Marvel Studios' willingness to take risks. Even though certain members of the Hollywood Elite have described Marvel's superhero films as "cut and paste," the MCU continues to experiment with new genres, styles, and creators; and when it comes to Disney+, no one series has looked or felt like the other. That tradition of distinctive risk looks to continue with Marvel's first series for 2022, Moon Knight . In Moon Knight , Oscar Isaac plays mercenary Marc Spector, who suffers from a dissociative identity disorder. His multiple identities, including that of Mr. Knight and Steven Grant, happen to have mysterious connections to ancient Egyptian gods. ADVERTISEMENT From this unique premise to the show's first trailer, it's clear that this Marvel Disney+ series is yet another unique addition to the MCU's ever-expanding library; and as the show's March 30, 2022 release date...

Marvel Confirms Exactly How Violent Moon Knight on Disney+ Will Be

Image
One particular rumor that has fans excited about Marvel Studios' upcoming series,  Moon Knight , is that a particularly violent  "choreographed sequence"  rivaling the famous hallway fight in  Daredevil will be included. This is something that has the MCU faithful just as excited as they are skeptical since Moon Knight will still be streaming on Disney+. However, it seems that Marvel Studios and Disney are allowing themselves to broaden their streaming horizons, allowing their original content to veer into more mature portrayals of violence. Examples of this include John Walker publically executing someone in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier  and the rumor that the Inquisitors in the  Obi-Wan Kenobi  series will be " brutal. " ADVERTISEMENT Now, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has come out in an interview to emphasize the violence and brutality in Moon Knight . Moon Knight Will Be Violent and Won't Pull Back Alongsid...

Marvel Studios' X-Men 97 Reveals Episode Count & Release Date Window

Image
Following the acquisition of 20th Century Fox Studios, MCU fans are highly anticipating the eventual arrival of the fabled X-Men. While the only rumored project featuring these heroes in live-action is The Mutants , another famous variation of the team will make an unexpected return in X-Men '97 . Marvel Studios will take the famed '90s animated series and continue its story for a new generation of X-Men fans. X-Men '97 came as part of a massive round of announcements at Disney+ Day 2021, which included various new animated projects like Spider-Man: Freshman Year and Marvel Zombies . This one has a unique opportunity, however, by being able to move a classic story from the past generation forward while bringing it up to the MCU's standard of storytelling. ADVERTISEMENT Currently, there aren't many details regarding how Marvel Studios will add to the X-Men show's narrative or when fans should expect to see it premiere on Disney+....

Audiences were just introduced to the world of  Moon Knight , and it seems that everyone has loved what they’ve seen so far. Oscar Isaac’s upcoming series has launched its first trailer, and it gives tons of intriguing glimpses of what fans can expect. But who exactly is this crazed vigilante wrapped in white, and how is he a superhero? The driving force behind that hero or, as many would call him, anti-hero is none other than the Egyptian moon god. Going by the name of Khonshu, the being grants Marc Spector his powers to do his bidding. ADVERTISEMENT When it comes to what that might be in the show exactly, it isn’t entirely known. There’s also likely to be plenty of differences between the Disney+ series and the comics the story comes from. However, many don’t know a thing about the character in the first place or what drives him. So, the best place to start is by examining the impetus behind Isaac’s new character: Khonshu. Khonshu, the Moon Knight Go...

Marvel Studios had quite the year in 2021, with nine projects released overall and new content premiering nearly every month.
