At the very beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's cosmic history, there were six singularities imbued with immense power. These singularities would come to be known as the Infinity Stones, with each imbued with different abilities. The Mad Titan Thanos collected the Space, Time, Soul, Reality, Mind and Power Stones one by one during the events of  Avengers: Infinity War,  and when he had all of them, with a snap of his fingers, he eliminated half of all living beings in the universe. Of course, the Avengers and their heroic allies managed to turn the tide and reverse Thanos' snap five years later in  Avengers: Endgame , returning each and every thing that was blipped away.
