Will Daredevil Meet the Avengers? Charlie Cox Teases Future Marvel Crossovers

Spider-Man: No Way Home has seen unprecedented success and broken many records in the less than two months it has been out in cinemas. The movie is full of action, drama, and fun appearances from a number of Marvel characters. Some were confirmed in trailers and other promotional material, some were basically open secrets, and some came as pretty big surprises to many viewers.

One of the biggest surprises of all happens early in the film, when Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock from the Marvel Netflix series Daredevil pops up for a short scene as Peter Parker's lawyer. The moment is brief, but has drawn many gasps from fans in theaters around the world.

With Murdock's re-emergeance into the MCU, speculation has run wild as to where the devil of Hell's Kitchen will pop up next. The most probable project is She-Hulk, as rumors have swirled about the self-proclaimed "really good lawyer" uniting with Marvel's other famed attorney in her debut series. That screen time is also rumored to include Murdock in full Daredevil threads, rocking his classic "yellow digs" instead of the red suit he made famous on Netflix.

While Cox remains coy about when he'll suit up again, the fan-favorite actor's excitement to be playing Daredevil again has yet to simmer down.

Will Charlie Cox Return as Daredevil in the MCU?

In an interview with Supanova Comic Con & Gaming, Charlie Cox discussed his grand return as Matt Murdock after Daredevil's cancellation, and his hopes to return to the role, noting he hopes he gets "to do as much as [he's] allowed to do" and that "crossovers" are specifically next on his radar.

“I don't know what their plans are, but yes, my hope is that I get to do as much as I'm allowed to do, and to be involved. And it'd be really fun. The one thing that being in the MCU allows [things] that we couldn't really do with the Netflix stuff, is that I can now interact with other MCU characters. So, that would be really cool. Crossovers is the thing I would like to do next. I don't know what that looks like, and I don't know what they're planning and all that kind of stuff. But there are some really interesting stories there that I'd love for the character to explore.”

Cox also discussed how long he would like to remain in the role for, expressing his hope that it "never ends."

"And I hope, I don't want to sound greedy, but I hope I get to do loads more. I hope I get to be involved way, way more for many years. I hope it never ends. I hope it gets to the point where people are like, ‘You are too old to be playing this part.'"

Where Will Charlie Cox's Daredevil Pop Up Next in the MCU?

Now that Cox's Matt Murdock has appeared in the MCU and the actor has stated his enthusiasm to remain in the role for as long as possible, it really seems like it's a matter of when, not if, his next appearance in the franchise will be.

Fortunately, there are many upcoming projects his character would probably fit into like a glove, with the aforementioned She-Hulk being a natural fit. Fellow lawyer Jennifer Walters will be the lead in the upcoming She-Hulk series on Disney+, so it's possible she could have a run-in with Murdock at their respective day jobs.

As for when Daredevil will make his MCU debut, Hawkeye spin-off Echo is another series that has been confirmed for the Disney+ platform. Alaqua Cox's Maya Lopez has already had a run-in with Kingpin, who has an infamous history with Daredevil. It's possible the two heroes could team up against him in that series.

There's also Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on the horizon, and anyone is fair game for a cameo in that movie. It is still unknown as to whether the Matt Murdock seen in No Way Home is the same one from the Daredevil series on Netflix, and Multiverse of Madness could be a good time to confirm whether the MCU's Murdock is the same person or a Variant.

Regardless of where he shows up next, Cox's enthusiasm for the franchise, particularly crossovers, means fans will likely get to see Daredevil interact with a multitude of MCU heroes and villains for years to come.
