Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield Snuck Into Spider-Man Screening Together
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to make the rounds across the world, with Tom Holland's threequel easily becoming the biggest theatrical release of 2021. Teaming up with Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and a handful of their past villains, this incredible group of comic book characters and the actors behind them are making the MCU's Spider-Man threequel a truly unique and special outing.
For the better part of a year, while rumors teased and then confirmed villains like Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, Maguire and Garfield did everything possible to avoid admitting being a part of the No Way Home cast. Garfield, in particular, had to dodge questions on the matter seemingly every week, but now that the movie is out, the actor can finally share his excitement about the experience.

Recently, the star of The Amazing Spider-Man went into detail about his time on the Marvel Studios set, sharing some funny moments with his Spidey co-stars while celebrating the beauty behind his scene with Zendaya's MJ. On top of that, the actor shared a fun behind-the-scenes moment that he shared with Tobey Maguire while watching the movie together.
Garfield and Maguire Snuck Into Spidey Screening
In a chat with Entertainment Tonight, Andrew Garfield revealed that he snuck into a screening of Spider-Man: No Way Home with fellow Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire.
For the movie's opening night on December 16, Garfield shared how he and Maguire shared the experience with a crowd completely unaware that either of them were there. Looking back on the night, the actor called the moment "a really beautiful thing to share together":

"I still can't believe it happened. I snuck into a theater on opening night and just watched with my baseball cap on and my mask. In fact, I was also with Tobey, me and Tobey snuck into a theater together and no one knew we were there. It was just a really beautiful thing to share together."
Speaking on the "brotherhood" he shares with Maguire and MCU Spider-Man actor Tom Holland, Garfield humbly expressed how much he loved having the "very unique experience" and bond from all of them playing the web-slinger:
"And to find a brotherhood with Tobey as well, and with Tom, and the fact that we do share a very unique experience."
Garfield Taking In Full No Way Home Experience
Movie stars sneaking into theaters to experience their work with die-hard fans is nothing new, especially with Marvel Studios projects that have released over the last few years. In the case of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it's especially fun to see Garfield and Maguire enjoying an experience like this after having to be so secretive about their inclusion in the movie for so long.
Fans and news outlets had seen rumors spreading in the weeks before the film's release that Garfield, Maguire, or both would be at either the trailer premiere event in Sherman Oaks or the No Way Home world premiere event in Los Angeles. Partially to help keep the secret of their returns, neither ended up happening, although that did lead to this fun story becoming a part of this movie's theatrical run.

Although their experience seeing the film was different than most would expect for two major players in the plot, the movie was unlike any other, and to see them share the moment together is something truly special.
As No Way Home moves further along into its theatrical run, fans and critics will learn more about stories like this from the set and the post-production experience that made the threequel so unique. Hopefully, both Maguire and Garfield will get to continue sharing their own tales about their returns to the Spidey suit before Marvel continues its Spider-Man story in the future.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now playing in theaters worldwide.
